Welcome. I am Stephanie Foy, and this is one facet of who I am and what I do.

I find excitement in expressing something real, through abstraction.  Here I explore a visual and tactile connection to all that is…the painful, the joyful, the ugly, the beautiful, but mostly, to the mystery.

When I can bring presence rather than critique to gestures, colors, and energy, I find joy and a curious ease.

Abstract expression frees me to engage with what is true and present.  Without following a predetermined form, I experience a conversation with the moment, which often includes memories, emotions, and the current environment.

Inside all of us is a world. How we share it varies. Creating work that reflects personal expressions, conflicts and visions feels exposing and risky.  Each color choice and movement reflects a tender or curious place, as authentic as I can allow.

In my studio, I keep my attention on what is soul stirring.  Imprints from solo pilgrimages and personal history, an affinity for primitive arts and fire and appreciation for mystery influence my style.

Creating art is a ceremony and how we show up becomes the living result.

Most often I work with oil and cold wax, mixed media and collage, often including elements of fire, water and earth.
